A recent review published in the journal Nutrients has examined the effects of blueberries, grapes, and their bioactive compounds on cardiovascular risk markers. The study highlights that polyphenols found in these fruits, such as resveratrol, flavonoids,

The review included 37 publications, comprising 20 randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and 17 systematic reviews and meta-analyses. The findings suggest that grape polyphenols can reduce platelet aggregation, low-density lipoprotein oxidation, and inflammation, while improving endothelial function. However, the review notes that while these compounds may improve cardiovascular risk markers, there is no conclusive evidence that they prevent heart attacks, strokes, or cardiovascular death.
