What's Happening?
DIVEVOLK, a leader in underwater mobile technology, has launched SeaLink, a real-time data transmitter that enables divers to maintain connectivity underwater. This innovation allows divers to live stream
their adventures, conduct video calls, and access mobile apps at depths of up to 30 meters. SeaLink operates through a floating Surface Processing Unit that captures 4G signals and transmits them via a data cable to an underwater terminal housing the diver's smartphone. The launch was showcased at the DEMA Show 2025 in Orlando, Florida, highlighting its potential to revolutionize underwater communication and content creation.
Why It's Important?
SeaLink's introduction is poised to significantly impact various industries, including media, science, and commercial diving. For content creators, it offers the ability to broadcast live from underwater, enhancing engagement and storytelling. Scientists can benefit from real-time data collection, improving collaboration and efficiency in research. In commercial diving, SeaLink can reduce inspection times by facilitating live consultations with surface teams. This technology democratizes underwater broadcasting, making it accessible to a wider audience and potentially transforming how underwater environments are explored and shared.
