Uber has announced the deployment of 500 specialized vehicles designed to collect real-world driving data for its autonomous vehicle partners, including Avride, Waymo, and WeRide. These Hyundai Ioniq 5 vehicles are equipped with advanced sensors and will
gather high-fidelity data to support the development of robotaxis. This initiative marks a significant step for Uber's AV Labs division, which aims to create a comprehensive dataset for training autonomous driving software. The vehicles are expected to cover 2 million miles per month globally.
