Vedhus Hoskere, an assistant professor at the University of Houston, has been awarded a five-year Faculty Early Career Development Program award by the U.S. National Science Foundation. The nearly half-million-dollar grant will support the development
of a project titled 'BRACE-CI: Building Resilience through Human-AI Co-Engineering Cyberinfrastructure.' This initiative aims to enhance the collaboration between engineers and artificial intelligence in designing resilient civil infrastructure systems. The project will focus on creating a shared cyberinfrastructure where AI agents assist engineers by connecting project information, supporting model creation, and identifying inconsistencies. The goal is to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of engineering teams in exploring alternatives and making informed decisions.
