What's Happening?
Brittany Wedd, the executive director of Children in Need, has been recognized as the 2026 Washington County Champion of Youth. The award was presented at the Boys & Girls Club of Washington County’s Annual
Youth of the Year Awards Dinner held on March 26 at Morgan Hall in Hagerstown. Since joining Children in Need in 2023, Wedd has been instrumental in leading the organization’s mission to support economically disadvantaged students in Washington County Public Schools. Under her leadership, the nonprofit provides essential items such as clothing, hygiene products, and school supplies to over 3,600 students annually. Prior to her current role, Wedd served as the executive director of Discovery Station, where she transformed the museum into an innovative educational space for children.
