Eurasian Resources Group (ERG) has launched an artificial intelligence and machine learning project aimed at improving smelting plant operations at its Kazchrome subsidiary. The initiative, coordinated by ERG's R&D centre and Business & Technology Services, involves integrating AI tools into the existing IT system controlling a smelting furnace at the Aksu Ferroalloys Plant. The project began with a 90-day data compilation and analysis period, and ERG plans to develop 10 AI modules for production management, including predictive diagnostics and smart optimization. These modules will be integrated into the automated process control system and scaled across other furnaces.
