What's Happening?
ISACA, a global professional association, has partnered with Nasscom, India's national standard-setting body for IT skills, to align ISACA's credentials with the National Skill Qualification Framework
(NSQF). This collaboration aims to integrate ISACA's certifications, such as the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), into India's higher education and skilling ecosystem. The initiative is designed to enhance professional competency and career opportunities in the technology sector by embedding these qualifications into formal education pathways. The partnership also includes the introduction of ISACA's courses on AI governance, ensuring that professionals and students gain globally benchmarked competencies in emerging technologies.
Why It's Important?
This collaboration is significant as it aims to bridge the gap between industry requirements and workforce capabilities in India, a country with a rapidly growing technology sector. By standardizing skill recognition and integrating these certifications into the National Qualification Register, the initiative provides students with academic credits for completing ISACA training. This move is expected to empower India's workforce with globally competitive skills, supporting the country's vision of becoming a leader in the digital economy. The partnership also aligns with the Indian government's efforts to reskill and upskill IT professionals, thereby enhancing the country's competitiveness on a global scale.
What's Next?
The collaboration between ISACA and Nasscom is expected to expand access to industry-relevant learning resources through platforms like FutureSkills Prime, a joint initiative between the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and Nasscom. This will provide professionals and students with greater opportunities to build their careers in digital trust, risk management, and cybersecurity. As technology continues to evolve, the alignment of ISACA certifications with NSQF is a significant step toward integrating industry-leading expertise into formal learning frameworks, further strengthening India's technology workforce.
