Vox Weather has issued a forecast for severe weather conditions over the weekend of February 14-15, affecting various regions in South Africa. Cooler conditions are expected to spread eastwards, reaching the Highveld by Sunday, while heat returns to the west.
Severe thunderstorms are anticipated on Saturday over the eastern parts, including Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, and KwaZulu-Natal, with risks of heavy downpours, strong winds, and hail. The South African Weather Service has issued impact-based warnings, including an Orange Level 5 warning for severe thunderstorms in Mpumalanga and Limpopo, and a Yellow Level 4 warning for KwaZulu-Natal. Additionally, fire danger warnings are in place for parts of the Northern Cape.
