DeBartolo was an alumnus of Elmhurst College and Northern Illinois University, where he earned his Juris Doctorate. He was preceded in death by his parents, both attorneys, and his sister. A funeral mass is scheduled for December 17, 2025, at Holy Angels Church in Aurora, Illinois, with visitation preceding the service. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
