What's Happening?
Azuki Manga Service, a digital manga publisher, has announced its rebranding to 'Omoi.' The change is effective immediately, with the website now accessible at omoi.com and the apps available under the name
Omoi: Manga Reader. Evan Minto, cofounder and director of licensing and marketing, stated that the rebranding aims to eliminate brand confusion due to the widespread use of the name Azuki. The new name, Omoi, which means 'thought' or 'feeling' in Japanese, reflects the company's dedication to thoughtful manga releases and app experiences. Founded in 2020, Omoi provides officially licensed English-translated manga through a subscription model, offering hundreds of series across iOS, Android, and web platforms.
Why It's Important?
The rebranding to Omoi signifies a strategic move to differentiate the company in the competitive digital manga market. By expanding its catalog in 2026, Omoi aims to attract a broader audience and enhance its market presence. This development is crucial for the U.S. manga industry, as it highlights the growing demand for digital manga platforms and the importance of brand identity in consumer engagement. The rebranding could lead to increased subscriptions and user engagement, benefiting both the company and the wider manga community by providing more diverse content.
