What's Happening?
Taiwan's CSBC Corporation is positioning its Endeavor Manta unmanned surface vehicle (USV) as a potential stand-off, kamikaze weapon for the Republic of China Navy (RoCN). The company demonstrated the USV's technologies and autonomous capabilities to the RoCN in March 2025. The Endeavor Manta, developed since March 2024, features a displacement of over five tonnes, a length of 8.6 meters, and a range of 250 kilometers. It can carry a one-tonne weapons payload. CSBC is awaiting further details on the navy's requirements, which may include a platform capable of a one-shot mission or a multirole platform for mine destruction.
