The Antrim and Newtownabbey Labour Market Partnership has relaunched the Employee Upskilling Grant Fund, aimed at helping local businesses futureproof their workforce. The grant provides up to £5,000 per business to support training for staff who are working part-time, at risk of redundancy, or seeking to upskill into new or improved roles within their organization. The initiative is designed to enable current staff to step into advanced roles, thereby freeing up entry-level positions for local unemployed residents. From 2023 to 2025, the program has already assisted 13 businesses and 66 employees across various sectors, including logistics and beauty, in enhancing their skills and advancing their careers.
