Case Western Reserve University School of Law has launched a new specialization in Cybersecurity and Data Privacy within its Compliance and Risk Management (CRM) Program. This initiative is a response
to the increasing need for professionals skilled in navigating the complex intersection of law, technology, and risk management. Eric Chaffee, a professor and director at CWRU Law, emphasized the importance of understanding cyberspace in the current era of escalating cyber threats and evolving data privacy regulations. The new specialization aims to equip students with the necessary legal and practical knowledge to manage real-world data privacy concerns and design effective cybersecurity compliance programs. This addition joins other specializations in the CRM program, such as healthcare, business finance, intellectual property, and environmental regulation, which were first approved by the university's board of trustees in 2020.
