What's Happening?
The Allegany County Area Foundation (ACAF) has awarded $387,240 in scholarships to over 200 students in Allegany County for the 2026-2027 academic year. These scholarships support students pursuing higher education and career training across various fields,
including nursing, education, engineering, and skilled trades. The scholarships are funded by local donors who have established 65 different scholarship funds. The ACAF's program is considered an essential resource for local students, providing financial assistance that helps ease the burden of educational expenses. Students from nearly every school district in Allegany County, as well as local homeschool programs, are among the recipients.
