Eviden, a business unit of the Atos Group, has inaugurated its Jupiter Booster supercomputer at the Jülich Supercomputing Centre in Germany. The event was attended by notable figures including Friedrich Merz, Federal Chancellor of Germany, and other regional leaders. Jupiter is recognized as Europe's most powerful high-performance computing (HPC) and AI system, and the fourth most powerful globally. It is the first in Europe to achieve over one quintillion calculations per second, equivalent to the power of 10 million modern desktop computers. The supercomputer integrates 24,000 Nvidia GH200 Grace Hopper Superchips and utilizes Nvidia Quantum-2 InfiniBand networking, optimized for parallel applications such as AI model training and complex simulations.
