Akshath Anand, a Grade 9 student from Surrey Academy of Innovative Learning, has won a gold medal at the Canada-Wide Science Fair for his invention, the Veino – IV Safety Monitoring System. This wearable device is designed to detect intravenous (IV) leaks
before they become visible or cause discomfort. By using smart pressure sensors, the system alerts healthcare workers early, allowing for timely intervention.
