The MQ-9B SkyGuardian, developed by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc., has completed its first flight in Belgium. This marks a significant milestone for the Belgian Defence, which received the aircraft in August at Florennes Air Base. The MQ-9B is a remotely piloted aircraft system designed for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions. Prior to its flight in Belgium, the aircraft underwent Acceptance Test Procedures in California, and Belgian Air Force personnel received training in the U.S. The MQ-9B is noted for its high endurance and versatility, capable of operating in various conditions, including the Arctic.
