What's Happening?
Radisson Hotel Group has announced the signing of a new resort, Radisson Resort North Coast, marking its first property in Egypt's rapidly developing North Coast region. The resort is set to open in 2029 in Dauwar Abd el Ati Abu Aguz, a prime location for resort development. The property will feature 250 hotel rooms and 250 branded residences, including family rooms and a presidential suite, offering expansive views of the Egyptian Northern Coast. Guests will have access to six diverse food and beverage venues, a 740-square-metre meeting and events space, wellness and fitness facilities, kids and teens clubs, an outdoor aqua park, and a private beach. The resort is strategically located 73 kilometers from Alexandria and is accessible from Borg El Arab International Airport and El Alamein International Airport, which provide direct connections to over 30 international destinations.
Why It's Important?
The development of Radisson Resort North Coast is significant as it highlights the growing appeal of Egypt's North Coast as a major tourism destination. The region is benefiting from government-led infrastructure upgrades and large-scale projects like New Alamein City and Marina 8, which are transforming it into a year-round destination for upscale leisure tourism. This expansion by Radisson Hotel Group not only enhances its presence in Egypt but also contributes to the local economy by attracting international tourists and creating job opportunities. The resort's strategic location and comprehensive amenities are expected to draw a diverse clientele, boosting the region's tourism industry.
What's Next?
As the resort is scheduled to open in 2029, the focus will likely be on the construction and development phases over the coming years. The Radisson Hotel Group may continue to explore further expansion opportunities in Egypt and other emerging markets. The success of this project could encourage other international hotel chains to invest in the North Coast, further accelerating its growth as a tourism hotspot. Additionally, local businesses and service providers may benefit from increased demand as the region attracts more visitors.
Beyond the Headlines
The development of the Radisson Resort North Coast could have broader implications for the hospitality industry in Egypt. It may set a precedent for sustainable and high-quality resort developments in the region, encouraging a shift towards more environmentally friendly and community-focused tourism projects. The resort's emphasis on diverse amenities and family-friendly facilities reflects a growing trend in the hospitality sector to cater to a wider range of travelers, including families and wellness-focused tourists.
