Carlisle Bay, a premier resort in Antigua, has initiated a multimillion-dollar renovation project aimed at enhancing its facilities and attracting more international travelers. The first phase of the renovation focuses
on refurbishing 55% of the resort's 87 suites, including the Ocean, Bay, and Garden Suites, which are located directly on the bay. These renovations are scheduled to occur during the resort's annual closure period, with the suites ready for guests by October 2025. The project is led by London-based designer Miminat Shodeinde, who aims to blend contemporary opulence with Antiguan heritage. The renovation will unfold over the next three years, with all phases expected to be completed by November 2027.

The renovation project is strategically positioned to capitalize on Antigua's tourism-driven economy, which accounts for over 60% of the island's GDP. By upgrading its facilities, Carlisle Bay aims to increase its revenue by more than 20% and boost occupancy levels. This initiative is expected to generate greater support for local businesses and create additional job opportunities within the community. The resort's enhanced offerings are designed to attract a larger share of international travelers, particularly from the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., thereby strengthening Antigua's position as a leading tourist destination.
