A Beechcraft King Air E90 aircraft crashed onto the roof of a hangar in Kansas due to fuel exhaustion during a go-around maneuver. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) investigation revealed that the pilots took off despite the fuel gauges

The flight instructor and the pilot-under-instruction both testified that the fuel levels were within the yellow caution band, yet they proceeded with the flight. The aircraft began to yaw to the left, and the instructor, suspecting a left engine flameout due to fuel starvation, took control but did not feather the left-hand propeller. The aircraft continued to turn left and impacted the hangar roof. Both pilots survived the incident.
