Williams Career School of Excellence has partnered with Dwyer Workforce Development to offer tuition-free Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training. This initiative aims to tackle the healthcare staffing
crisis by providing sustainable career pathways. The partnership allows Williams Career School to serve more students, known as Dwyer Scholars, by eliminating barriers such as transportation, childcare, housing, and food insecurity. The program also connects students with case management and job opportunities, empowering them to succeed in the healthcare field. The demand for CNA training in Central Texas is growing, with a significant decrease in the number of certified nursing aides in Hays County over recent years. Since the pilot collaboration began in 2024, nearly 100 CNAs have been trained, contributing to the effort to address the projected shortage of 57,000 skilled nurses in Texas over the next decade.
