Earl Decastro, a 47-year-old resident of Buena Park, California, has been charged with multiple felonies following the death of an 8-year-old girl. The incident occurred during a July Fourth celebration last year when Decastro ignited a $400 illegal firework,

The illegal firework, described as a 'cake' containing professional-grade explosives, malfunctioned and caused aerial mortar shells to hit a table with unspent fireworks, leading to the fatal explosion.
