The Global Fund for Children (GFC) is seeking a Salesforce Technical Consultant for a contracted role to serve as its primary Salesforce technical resource. GFC has been utilizing Salesforce since 2024,
with its foundation built on Nonprofit Cloud (Agentforce Nonprofit). The platform is currently used by 85 users across fundraising, grantmaking, and operations, and also supports three hosted initiatives and an Experience Cloud portal serving 800 annual users. The role, which is part-time at 40 hours per month, involves supporting admins and users with advanced configuration, automation, reporting, and troubleshooting. Key responsibilities include declarative configuration of Salesforce functionality, platform governance and health monitoring, release management, and ensuring data management, security, and reporting accuracy. The consultant will also be responsible for data integrity, establishing data entry standards, managing data migration and integration, and ensuring security and compliance.
Why It's Important?
This contracted position highlights the increasing reliance of nonprofit organizations like GFC on sophisticated CRM platforms like Salesforce to manage their operations, fundraising, and constituent engagement. The need for a dedicated technical consultant underscores the complexity of maintaining and optimizing such systems, especially within a nonprofit context where resources may be limited. Effective management of Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud is crucial for GFC to ensure data accuracy, streamline operations, and ultimately enhance its mission to support children and youth globally. The role's focus on data integrity, security, and reporting is vital for accountability, donor relations, and strategic decision-making, directly impacting the organization's ability to achieve its social impact goals. This also reflects a broader trend of digital transformation within the nonprofit sector.
What's Next?
The Global Fund for Children will proceed with the hiring process for the Salesforce Technical Consultant, aiming to secure an individual contractor for a 12-month agreement with a 90-day checkpoint. The selected consultant will work under the Vice President of Operations and Governance to ensure the optimal technical and functional performance of GFC's Salesforce organization. Their immediate tasks will involve supporting existing Salesforce admins, addressing needs that exceed internal capacity, and contributing to the platform's growth, scalability, and strategic direction. The ongoing evaluation and implementation of tri-annual Salesforce releases and third-party application updates will be a continuous responsibility, ensuring the system remains current and functional without disruption to existing operations.
Beyond the Headlines
The demand for specialized Salesforce expertise within the nonprofit sector points to a growing need for technology professionals who understand the unique challenges and opportunities of mission-driven organizations. This trend suggests a convergence of technology and social impact, where robust IT infrastructure and skilled personnel are essential for achieving philanthropic objectives. The emphasis on data management, security, and compliance within GFC's Salesforce operations also highlights the increasing importance of data governance in the nonprofit world, driven by privacy regulations and the need for transparent reporting to donors and stakeholders. This role exemplifies how technology, when effectively managed, can amplify the reach and impact of organizations dedicated to social change, fostering greater efficiency and accountability in their operations.
