After missing a crucial steer at the CINCH Playoffs Governor’s Cup in Sioux Falls, Soileau was left just short of the earnings needed to qualify for the NFR. However, Hanchey offered Soileau a ride on his charter flight to the Sheriff's PRCA Rodeo in San Bernardino, California, where Soileau managed to place second with a 3.9-second run, earning $2,644. This amount was enough to surpass competitor Mike McGinn and secure Soileau's spot at the NFR.
