What's Happening?
Starting October 2026, French physiotherapists will be authorized to conduct preventive health assessments as part of the 'Mon Bilan Prévention' initiative. This program, launched in 2024, offers free health evaluations at key life stages to identify
potential health risks and promote healthy behaviors. The assessments, which last 30 to 45 minutes, are designed to address issues such as mental health in young adults and chronic disease risks in older populations. The inclusion of physiotherapists aims to expand the program's reach and effectiveness, with over 612,000 assessments already conducted by other healthcare professionals.
Why It's Important?
The expansion of the 'Mon Bilan Prévention' program to include physiotherapists reflects a growing emphasis on preventive healthcare in France. By involving a broader range of healthcare professionals, the initiative aims to improve early detection of health issues and encourage proactive health management. This approach aligns with global trends towards preventive care, which can reduce healthcare costs and improve population health outcomes. The program's success could serve as a model for other countries seeking to enhance preventive healthcare services.
