What's Happening?
The North Dakota Development Fund (NDDF) has approved more than $1.1 million in financing during the second quarter of 2026 to support two childcare projects. These projects aim to expand access to quality childcare and bolster North Dakota's workforce.
Brian Opp, CEO of the NDDF, emphasized the importance of affordable, high-quality childcare for families, employers, and communities in the state. The approved projects include a $146,750 loan to A Tiny Roar Child Care LLC in Jamestown for purchasing a building, and a $1 million loan to TTRT Holdings LLC in Fargo for constructing a new facility. The total investment for these projects is $1,315,000. The NDDF provides flexible financing to support the growth of primary sector businesses, helping to create jobs and strengthen communities across North Dakota.
Why It's Important?
The approval of these loans is significant as it addresses the critical need for affordable childcare, which is essential for supporting working families and economic growth in North Dakota. By increasing childcare capacity, the state can better support its workforce, enabling more parents to participate in the labor market. This initiative also aligns with broader economic development goals by fostering job creation and community strengthening. The investment in childcare facilities is a strategic move to ensure that North Dakota remains competitive and attractive for families and businesses alike.
