The Kiwanis Club of Mansfield is organizing its fourth annual 9/11 Memorial Field of Honor, featuring a display of 500 American flags. The event will take place from September 5-12 at the Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging in Ontario, Ohio. This tribute
aims to honor veterans, active-duty military members, first responders, and individuals who died in the line of duty. The display, located at 2131 Park Avenue West, is open to the public free of charge, providing a space for reflection and gratitude. Each flag in the display represents an individual who has served or sacrificed. A Ceremony of Remembrance is scheduled for 12 p.m. on September 11, which will include flag dedications, remarks, and a keynote address by Doug Theaker, honoring those represented by the flags.

What's Next?
Community members have until September 8 to dedicate flags in honor or memory of veterans, first responders, active-duty service members, and fallen heroes. A flag dedication costs $50, allowing the purchaser to keep the flag, while a $40 sponsorship means the flag is donated back to the Kiwanis Club after the event. The Field of Honor will be open for public viewing from September 5-12, culminating in the Ceremony of Remembrance on September 11. The proceeds from these dedications and sponsorships will be allocated to various local programs supported by the Mansfield Kiwanis Club, including The Friendly House, Malabar K-Kids, Madison Builders Club, Key Clubs at Madison, Mansfield Senior, Ontario, and St. Peter's high schools, and Aktion Clubs in Ashland and Richland counties.
