The United Kingdom has intensified its support for the Yemeni Coastguard, as demonstrated by a recent visit from Hamish Falconer, the British minister responsible for the Middle East. This marks the first visit by a British minister to Yemen since 2019.
The UK has provided a $3 million donation to refurbish patrol boats, including the 200GT vessel Aden. The British ambassador to Yemen, Abda Sharif, chaired the first steering committee meeting of the Yemeni Coastguard Coalition, which includes the UK, EU, United States, and Japan.
