What's Happening?
The Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) and GIZ, Germany, have partnered with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) to conduct a workshop aimed at promoting industrial decarbonisation in India. This initiative is part of the India-Sweden
Leadership Group for Industry Transition (LeadIT), which focuses on transitioning industries towards low-carbon operations. The workshop brought together approximately 40 senior officials from various Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs) to discuss strategies for achieving climate-resilient industrial growth. Key topics included low-carbon industrial transformation, technology interventions for emission reduction, and sustainable energy practices. The event featured technical sessions led by MoEFCC and LeadIT Secretariat officials, emphasizing practical solutions for cleaner industrial operations.

The workshop also included a sustainability exchange visit to Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), where participants observed practical applications of green technologies. This visit highlighted BEL's net-zero roadmap and renewable energy initiatives, showcasing how industries can integrate sustainability into their operations. Additionally, the rejuvenation of Doddabommasandra Lake by BEL was presented as a successful example of ecological conservation efforts. Such initiatives demonstrate the potential for industries to contribute positively to environmental restoration while pursuing sustainability goals.
