What's Happening?
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced the creation of 55 new missions worldwide, set to commence on July 1, 2026. This expansion is a result of adjusting the boundaries of existing
missions to accommodate a growing number of missionaries. The total number of missions will increase to 506. The church has seen a rise in the number of missionaries, from 65,000 at the end of 2022 to over 84,000 currently. These missionaries are active in more than 150 countries and communicate in over 60 languages.
