The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) has been awarded the Philippines Customer-Centric Innovation of the Year - Financial Services at the Asian Innovation Excellence Awards 2025. This recognition is for
BPI's earned wage access solutions, BPI Salary On-Demand (SOD) and Sweldo On the Spot (SOS). Launched in 2023, these services allow employees to access a portion of their earned wages at any time, addressing a significant gap in the Philippine payroll system. The initiatives have been widely adopted, with over PHP1.4 billion disbursed and expectations to reach PHP2.0 billion by the end of 2025.
