Ron Burkett, a resident of Trussville, Alabama, has transformed his front lawn into a patriotic display to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States. Using a weed whacker, Burkett crafted a large mural of a bald eagle with outstretched wings,
visible from above. The mural, which also features the inscription 'USA 250', was inspired by Burkett's visit to Sail250, a maritime heritage celebration in New Orleans. Burkett emphasizes that the mural is a celebration of American freedoms rather than a political statement. In addition to the eagle mural, Burkett's property includes a driveway mural depicting the Statue of Liberty and US Air Force jets, created the previous year.
