What's Happening?
Project Connect, a community service event in Charlevoix and Emmet counties, has been rescheduled to April 22 due to a winter storm. The event will be held at North Central Michigan College’s Student and Community Resource Center, offering free services
from over 70 local nonprofit agencies and businesses. Participants can access resources related to financial problems, housing issues, employment challenges, and health concerns. The event aims to simplify access to social services and includes a special section for veterans and their families.
Why It's Important?
Project Connect provides a vital opportunity for individuals and families in need to access a wide range of services in one location. By bringing together multiple agencies, the event helps streamline the process of obtaining assistance, which can be particularly challenging for those navigating complex social service systems. The inclusion of a dedicated area for veterans highlights the event's commitment to addressing the specific needs of this community. Overall, Project Connect plays a crucial role in supporting vulnerable populations and fostering community resilience.
