What's Happening?
China Merchants Energy Shipping (CMES) has taken delivery of the CM Hong Kong, the world's first methanol dual-fuel powered pure car and truck carrier (PCTC) with a capacity of 9,300 cars. Built by China Merchants Industry, the vessel features a dual-fuel methanol main engine that meets IMO Tier III emission standards, significantly reducing greenhouse emissions. The CM Hong Kong, which will sail under the Hong Kong flag, is the first of six methanol dual-fuel PCTCs ordered by CMES. The vessel is equipped with 13 cargo decks and can transport various types of cargo, including new energy vehicles.
