McCain Foods plans to install advanced heat recovery technology at its Ballarat facility, reducing steam and heat requirements by over 20%. Sugar Australia will replace gas-fired evaporators with an electric system at its Yarraville refinery, and Blackmores will install a high-efficiency heat pump at its Braeside factory to cut gas use by up to 25%. Additionally, $180 million is available under ARENA’s Industrial Transformation Stream to assist regional manufacturers in modernizing operations and reducing gas reliance.
