Frankenburg Technologies, an Estonian missile startup, has announced its decision to incorporate a BAE Systems warhead into its Mark I short-range air defense missile. This development was revealed at the
Farnborough Airshow. The Mark I missile will feature the BlackThorn multimode warhead, which BAE Systems introduced during the event. Frankenburg has chosen this warhead for its compact form and suitability for rapid, cost-efficient mass manufacturing. Additionally, Frankenburg has entered into a five-year agreement with Roxel UK to explore the design, development, integration, and production of motors for its current and future missile systems. This collaboration aims to leverage existing motors from MBDA-affiliate Roxel and assess their adaptability for Frankenburg's products. The Mark I missile is designed to be lightweight and compact, measuring 0.64 meters in length and weighing less than 2 kilograms.
