education in Athens. He furthered his studies at Northwestern University, where he earned a Master's degree in Management. Vavasis had a successful career in the industry in Chicago. He is predeceased by his parents, Stavros and Valentina, his brother Spyridon, and his sisters Penelope and Electra. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Theana, his children Steve, Valentina, and Anthony, as well as five grandchildren and numerous other relatives.
