What's Happening?
MBDA, a missile manufacturer, is set to develop loitering munitions in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in collaboration with French startup Fly-R and the Tawazun Council for Defense Enablement. This initiative
aims to establish a robust weapons development and production capability to support the UAE armed forces. The project includes the creation of a Missile Engineering Center in Abu Dhabi and the establishment of MBDA UAE as a long-term industrial partner. The loitering munitions, featuring AI-supported systems, are designed for high speed and maneuverability, enhancing the UAE's defense capabilities.
