Marine Reserve in Fiji, utilized genetic data to analyze the social behaviors of these predators. The study introduced the concept of 'kinfluence,' highlighting the influence of kinship on shark social structures. While sharks are traditionally viewed as solitary creatures, this research suggests that family ties play a role in their social interactions, particularly among male sharks.
