The Deputy Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, Mr. Stefanos Gkikas, visited the Port of Thessaloniki as part of a series of meetings with institutional and productive bodies in Central Macedonia. During the visit, the management of ThPA S.A.
presented their long-term investment program aimed at transforming the port into a modern, competitive hub for transport and tourism in Southeastern Europe. Key projects discussed included the Pier 6 Expansion Project, which is crucial for enhancing the port's capacity and its role in connecting Balkan and Central European markets. Mr. Gkikas also toured the port facilities, including the Hellenic Coast Guard and the construction site of Pier 6, expressing admiration for the progress made. The discussions highlighted the need for infrastructure improvements to connect Pier 6 with national networks and enhance the port's operational efficiency.
