What's Happening?
The Southern University Ag Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, has inaugurated a new Demonstration Farm aimed at educating visitors about vegetable production and sustainable gardening techniques. The grand opening ceremony took place on July 1, marking
the farm as a living classroom where schools, community groups, and summer camps can schedule tours to learn about agriculture. The farm currently features a variety of crops including red onions, green onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, squash, and flowers. Stephanie Elwood, the agriculture and natural resources program leader at the SU Ag Center, emphasized the center's mission to reconnect people with the land and provide comprehensive gardening education.
