What's Happening?
Friends of the Yampa, a nonprofit organization, is collaborating with licensed professional counselor Tiana Schneider to host a free mindfulness workshop along the Yampa River. Scheduled for September 16, the event will guide participants through nature journaling and mindfulness exercises. Attendees will meet at the Yampa River Center in Steamboat Springs and proceed to the river for the session. The workshop encourages participants to bring personal art supplies and offers snacks, drinks, and journals.
Why It's Important?
This workshop highlights the growing interest in mindfulness and nature-based activities as tools for mental health and well-being. By providing a structured environment for reflection and connection with nature, the event supports community engagement and personal growth. Such initiatives can contribute to broader public health efforts by promoting stress reduction and emotional resilience. The workshop also underscores the importance of accessible mental health resources, particularly in natural settings.
