A rabid bat was discovered at the Yellow Deli Restaurant in Vista, San Diego County, startling patrons. The bat landed on a table while a family was dining, and another diner used a towel to capture it. The bat was then taken to the San Diego Humane Society
and subsequently tested positive for rabies at the County's Public Health Lab. This incident marks the 22nd rabid bat case in San Diego County this year. Public health officials are now seeking anyone who may have had contact with the bat, although no direct skin contact has been reported.
