Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMI) has reported handling over 100,000 passengers within the first 19 days of its operations, following its opening on December 25. The airport, which was constructed at a cost of $2 billion, saw its busiest day on January
12 with 7,345 passengers. Currently, airlines such as Air India Express, Asaka Air, and IndiGo are operating from NMI, connecting it to 16 domestic destinations including New Delhi, Goa, and Bengaluru. The airport is currently operating 12 hours daily but plans to transition to 24-hour operations starting in February. Managed by Adani Airports Holdings, NMI is part of a twin airport system with Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.
