South Carolina students have achieved their strongest performance on the SC READY assessment, marking significant gains in English language arts (ELA) and math. The results, released by State Superintendent of Education Ellen Weaver, show that students across
grades 3-8 have made substantial progress, with Meeting Street Elementary – Burns in Charleston being highlighted for its remarkable improvement. The school increased the percentage of students scoring at or above grade level by 22 points, with third graders showing a 29 percentage point improvement in ELA. These achievements are part of a broader effort to have 75% of students performing at or above grade level by 2030.
