What's Happening?
A delegation of agricultural scientists and students from Iowa State University visited Kollengode, India, to study local farming practices. Led by professors Ajay Nair and Catherine Suboda, the 14-member team explored various agricultural sites, including
paddy fields, mango orchards, and organic farms. The visit aimed to exchange knowledge and suggest improvements, particularly in promoting agri-tourism. The team recommended using modern techniques like soil-quality sensors and mini weather stations to enhance crop protection and suggested adopting advanced technology for toxin-free pesticides. The visit was hosted by Kollengode Agro Film City, where the delegation interacted with local farmers and shared insights at the Kollengode Mango Village.
Why It's Important?
