What's Happening?
The Dutch Ministry of Defence (MoD) has placed an order for additional Dutch Expeditionary Patrol Vehicles (DXPVs), which are unarmoured versions of the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) known as 'Kaaiman'. This order, announced by Oshkosh Defense,
is valued between USD 25-30 million and includes two training kits to enhance the readiness of the Royal Netherlands Marine Corps (RNLMC). The initial order for 150 DXPVs was made on June 25, 2025, with deliveries expected by 2028. The total contract value for the initial order was estimated between EUR 150-200 million (USD 174.8-233 million). The DXPVs are intended to improve the mobility, survivability, and operational effectiveness of the RNLMC in joint and allied operations.
