Montgomery Catholic athletes Zay Jackson-Ligon and Hayden Fitts have been named the Vance Law Firm Athletes of the Week for the period of September 29 to October 3. Jackson-Ligon won the boys' poll with 46.4% of the votes, narrowly surpassing Pike Road's Gunner Gibbs by 355 votes, accumulating a total of 18,325 votes. Meanwhile, Fitts secured the girls' poll with 38.62% of the votes, totaling 9,173 votes. The Athlete of the Week polls are conducted by the Montgomery Advertiser, with nominees selected from top performers of the previous week. Coaches or stat keepers can nominate athletes by emailing the Montgomery Advertiser by Friday night, with voting open from Monday to Thursday noon, and winners announced on Fridays.
