What's Happening?
Ukraine has begun purchasing the Vyrivniuvach, or "Equalizer," a homegrown glide bomb developed by DG Industry with support from Brave1, a government-backed defense technology group. This new weapon aims to reduce Ukraine's reliance on foreign-supplied
armaments, such as U.S.-supplied JDAM-ER bomb kits and Small Diameter Bombs, and French-made Hammer bombs. The Equalizer has completed testing and is now being acquired by the Ukrainian armed forces. It converts conventional bombs into precision weapons by adding wings and guidance systems, allowing Ukrainian pilots to strike Russian forces from safer distances using their MiG-29, Su-24, and Su-27 warplanes. While the bomb's wings and flight-control software are Ukrainian-made, approximately 90% of its parts, including chips and microcircuits, originate from Ukraine, Europe, and the U.S.
