as food security, social cohesion, and environmental benefits. The research highlights the diverse roles CGs play, from addressing food insecurity to promoting inclusivity among marginalized populations. The review found that while urban agriculture (UA) research is more prevalent, CGs are increasingly recognized for their social and urban benefits. The geographic distribution of studies shows a concentration in the Americas, with the USA leading in research efforts.
